New HSE Training
The HSE Training review showed many expressing concerns that the training content, complexity and delivery did not provide a beneficial learning experience. PDO in the spirit of consultation has redesigned it to create effective training.
We reduced the course pre-requisites prohibiting people attending the courses critical for their roles.
You told us the induction was viewed by many as a ‘tick in the box’ exercise to attend to enable a new employee to mobilize. It was pitched at too high a level for the majority of attendees who failed to comprehend the message. We took notice and set up working groups for Logistics, Drilling and Construction to work out the best content for each area and then removed all of the words from the slides and replaced it with the reflective learning philosophy. Now images have replaced the words, and the trainer has become a facilitator for discussion, debate and argument encouraging self learning and awareness of the hazards.
